"EMERALD CITY"
JoJo Nieves' newest single is a love letter to Seattle, despite all of its changes and challenges. While "Emerald City" shares a sentiment that is similar other well-known songs from Seattle veterans like Death Cab for Cutie's "Gold Rush" or Noah Gunderson's "Sleepless in Seattle," Nieves offers the unique perspective of a newcomer. “Emerald City” will resonate with listeners in any city experiencing gentrification and struggling to define the meaning of progress.

ABOUT JOJO NIEVES
JoJo Nieves (nee-ev-es) is a songwriter, producer, and musician based in Seattle, WA. Drawing inspiration from Indie Rock, New Americana, and Modern Folk, Nieves creates music that is both easily accessible and uncompromisingly vulnerable.
In the fall of 2019, Nieves released his first pair of singles titled The Home Sessions. As the world began to shut down in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic the following year, Nieves took to documenting his own quarantine experience though songwriting, which resulted in the release of his second single "The Bitter End." In October 2020 he released his third single "Confessions," a 1960's-era protest song that serves as an unflinching critique of complicity in American society today.
Nieves' latest single "Emerald City" (released Jan. 28, 2022) is both a love letter to his hometown of Seattle and an earnest examination of the effects of gentrification in cities across the country.
JoJo Nieves is an artist on the rise, and his titanic musical talents show no signs of slowing down.
